HI-7660-2810 Low Range Turbidity Probe, 10 metre cable
HI-7660-2810 Low Range Turbidity Probe, 10 metre cable

HI-7660-2810

HI-7660 is a nephelometric low-range turbidity probe that measures up to 400 FNU, designed to be used with the HI-510 and HI-520 Process Controllers from Hanna.

A built-in temperature sensor provides measurements during readings of turbidity, allowing the probe signal to adjust for a high degree of accuracy. This is the version of the HI-7660 with a 10m cable.

The HI-7676602 flow cell is a recommended accessory for the HI-7660 for use in water treatment, water quality and drinking water applications. This flow cell eliminates ambient light effects and provides consistent sample pressure for accurate measurement.

HI-7660 Low Range Turbidity Probe with 10m Cable

HI-7660 is a low-range turbidity probe that uses the nephelometric method (ISO 7027 – EN 27027). This probe is suitable for use in a wide range of water quality-related industries, including general water quality, drinking water, water treatment and desalination.

Speak to our team directly to learn more about this turbidity measurement solution.

This probe is part of the range of measurement options available for the HI-510 and HI-520 Universal Process Controllers from Hanna, providing an accurate and reliable method of measuring low-range turbidity in line with varying industry standards. HI-7660 takes measurement of turbidity in FNU, with a range from 0-400 FNU.

Three lengths of cable are available for the HI-7660 to suit different requirements:

An integrated temperature sensor is included with the HI-7660, allowing for automatic adjustment of the probe signal within a 0 °C to 50°C range. Both temperature and turbidity are displayed at the same time on the controller.

It is highly recommended that you use the HI-7676602 flow cell in combination with this probe. A flow cell provides a consistent level of water pressure while also reducing ambient light and preventing out-gassing. By using a pressurised flow cell, the degree of accuracy is increased while reducing the risk of measurement error.

HI-7660 features

Designed for HI-51X Series Process Controllers

This probe is designed for use with Hanna Instruments HI-510 and HI-520 Universal Process Controllers, offering a simple and effective way to monitor low-range turbidity in water. These controllers can be combined with a range of different parameter probes to provide customised measurements to suit various industries and applications.

Built-in temperature sensor

The HI-7660 features an integral temperature sensor. This improves the accuracy of readings from the probe by adjusting the probe signal within the range of 0 °C to 50°C. By compensating for temperature, the results of testing have an improved level of accuracy.

Stored digital calibration data

The HI-5X0 Process Controllers store and maintain all data from the digital turbidity probe for easy access. This includes calibrating data such as calibration date and time, turbidity calibration standard, offset, and slope. In addition, the probe stores the firmware version, serial number and model.

ISO 7027-compliant sensors

The HI-7660 uses the nephelometric method for the measurement of turbidity, adhering to ISO 7027 – EN 2702 standards for compliance. A near-infrared light-emitting diode (LED) is used by the sensors to eliminate any possible colour interference when testing a sample.

Calibrated at the factory

This low-range turbidity probe is pre-calibrated at Hanna’s factory, allowing it to be used straight out of the box following proper installation with no initial calibration required. Depending on your usage volume and specific industry requirements, your continued requirements for calibration may vary. Speak to our team directly to discuss the frequency of calibration necessary for your specific application.

FAQs

What industries is the HI-7660 turbidity probe suitable for?

In combination with the HI-510 or HI-520 universal process controller, this turbidity probe is suitable for a wide range of industries and applications related to water, including:

  • Wastewater management
  • Water treatment
  • Drinking water monitoring
  • Desalination processes
  • Water quality monitoring

Do you need the flow cell with the HI-7660?

The HI-7676602 flow cell is highly recommended as an additional accessory for the HI-7660 turbidity probe. The flow cell has several benefits, including enabling a steady flow of pressure for consistency in measurement. A flow cell also helps to eliminate ambient light and minimise out-gassing.

For more information about installing the HI-7676602 flow cell for our low-range turbidity probe, contact our experts directly.

What options are available for the HI-7660?

The HI-7660 low-range turbidity probe is available in three cable lengths to suit different application environments:

What method does the HI-7660 use for turbidity measurement?

The HI-7660 low-range turbidity probe uses the nephelometric method (ISO 7027 – EN 27027), providing measurements in FNU.

A light beam from an infrared source within the probe is sent through an optical window into the sample. The light is scattered by the suspended particles within the water, and the 90° light is reflected into a second window on the probe. This light is converted into an electrical signal proportional to the turbidity of the standard or the sample.
