HI-4011 Iodide Half-Cell ISE
HI-4011
The HI-4011 is ideal to be used for the determination of free iodide ions in emulsified food samples (iodised table salt), plants, and for titration.
The HI-4011 is a solid state, half-cell ion selective electrode (ISE) for the determination of iodide (I-) in solution. The silver iodide sensing pellet produces a potential change due to the iodide ion exchange between the inorganic pellet membrane and the sample. The internal sensing elements are housed within a durable epoxy body.
The HI-4011 is an iodide half-cell ISE.
This electrode has a 1m cable and BNC connector.
The solid state sensor requires a separate reference electrode to complete the measurement system. Hanna’s solid state half-cell ISEs are designed for use with the HI-5315 reference half-cell.
For the HI-4011 to measure iodide accurately, it is important that the ionic strength of the standards and sample be adjusted to a high and constant value with the halide ionic strength adjuster (ISA) solution. The halide ISA ensures that the activity coefficient is constant so the concentration of free iodide ions can be measured. Measuring all solutions with a constant ionic strength reduces the margin of error between measurements.
The HI-4011 iodide solid state ISE can measure from 0.1µM (0.01 mg/L) to1M (127,000 mg/L).
