HI-3826 Ammonia test kit for sea water
HI-3826
Ammonia in sea water is an important parameter for fish farming applications due to its toxicity to fish. Colourmetric method.
Using Hanna special reagents, our test kits measure the strength or weakness of a chemical presence according to the degree of colour saturation. Ie – if it is pale in colour, then the chemical concentration is low. If the colour is strong, then the chemical concentration is high. Simply add the reagent to the compound to be tested and match the colour gained against a colour chart included in the kit.
HI-3826 is a Colorimetric chemical test kit that measures Ammonia in seawater. Using the Nessler Method*, the HI-3826 is supplied complete with all of the reagents and equipment necessary to perform approximately 25 tests.
Please download the Safety Datasheet(s) which provide more detail on the reagents before use; click on the link in the “safety data sheets” paragraph below.
All materials are included with the kit to perform a test, such as a sample beaker, colour comparison cube, and reagent dropper bottles. Readings from 0.0 to 2.5 mg/L NH3-N are determined to 0.5 mg/L resolution.
Replacements: There is no need to buy a new kit when you have used all the reagents as refills are available. Simply order HI-3826-025 to replenish.
*Nessler Method measures the total Ammonia NH3 and NH4+.
Why test for Ammonia?
Concentrations of ammonia in rivers, estuaries, and bays may indicate the presence of pollution. When the concentration of ammonia reaches a high level, it can prove toxic to aquatic life. In industrial areas, high concentrations of ammonia can cause corrosion to pipes.
Kit supplied with:
- 20ml plastic beaker, colour comparison cube, 20ml ammonia reagent 1 and 20ml Nessler reagent
