HI-38049 Ammonia test kit
HI-38049
Concentrations of ammonia in rivers and drinking water reservoirs indicate the presence of agriculture or urban pollution. Nessler method. Range (0.0-3.0 mg/L).
Ammonia test kit for fresh water
Concentrations of ammonia in rivers and drinking water reservoirs indicate the presence of agriculture or urban pollution. When the concentration of ammonia is high, it can alter the smell and taste of water. In industrial applications, high concentrations of ammonia can cause corrosion in pipes. Ammonia is also monitored in aquariums and fish farming applications because of its toxicity to fish.
The HI 38049 test kit measures ammonia nitrogen concentration up to 3 ppm in freshwaters, employing the Nessler colorimetric method. Ammonia reacts with the reagent in basic solution to form a yellow compound. The absorbance of this coloured product is proportional to the concentration of ammonia-nitrogen present in the aqueous sample.
Kit supplied with
20ml ammonia reagent, 20ml Nessler reagent, checker disc, two glass vials with caps and a 3ml plastic pipette
