HI-93715-01 Ammonia MR Reagent, Nessler Method 100 tests
In Stock 72 Items available
HI-93715-01
The HI-93715-01 is a reagent for the colorimetric determination of ammonia. There are enough reagents for 100 tests and for use with Hanna’s compatible benchtop and portable photometers. These high quality reagents are clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date on each bottle for traceability.
The HI-93715-01 are high quality, pre-measured reagents that allow users to achieve fast and accurate colorimetric measurements.
Benefits highlighted:
- Pre-made reagents for ease of use
- Prepared with high purity chemicals
- Marked with expiry date and lot number for traceability
These reagents follow the Nessler Method in which the reaction between ammonia and the reagent causes a colour change in the sample.
Please download the Safety Datasheet(s) which provide more detail on the reagents before use; click on the link in the “safety data sheets” paragraph below.
The intensity of colour is determined by a compatible photometer. The concentration, based upon the meter in use, will be displayed in mg/L (ppm) as ammonia (NH3) or ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N). These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 9.99 mg/L ammonia.
The HI-93715-01 Ammonia, medium range reagent is suitable for use with the HI-96715 portable photometer, the HI-83200-02 and HI-83099-02 multi-parameter bench photometer and other meters were specified.
About Ammonia
Present naturally in surface and waste waters, ammonia mainly results from the deamination of organic nitrogen-containing compounds and hydrolysis of urea. Ammonia may also be present from water treatment processes that utilise chloramines for disinfection, where ammonia is added to the water to react with chlorine. Ammonia is less likely to appear in groundwater due to adsorption to soil particles.
