Full Description Specification

HALO Wireless pH electrodes make pH testing simple. Take direct soil & soil slurry pH and temperature measurements using the HI-12922 specifically designed for agricultural tasks.

The HALO has a triple ceramic junction in the outer reference cell, built-in temperature sensor, and a conic pH sensing tip made with low-temperature glass. All readings are transmitted directly to your mobile or tablet device (with Hanna Lab App) or the edge® blu.

HI-12922 HALO® Wireless Soil pH electrode

The HI-12922 HALO® is a glass pH electrode that incorporates Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth 4.0) wireless technology with an application-specific design. It has many features that make it ideal for use in agricultural applications, specifically in direct soil & slurry measurements.

These features include:

  • Low-temperature (LT) glass, conical tip, glass body, and triple junction design
  • Easily connects to the Hanna Lab App at the press of a button via Bluetooth® wireless technology
  • Visible from a distance, the LED “halo” light flashes to indicate the status of the probe
  • The HALO’s CR2032 lithium ion battery is easily replaceable and lasts for approximately 500 hours

Low-Temperature Glass Formulation

The HI-12922 is suitable to use with samples that measure from -5 to 70°C.

Conical Glass Tip

The conical shaped tip design allows for penetration into solids, semi-solids, and emulsions. The HI-12922 is ideal for the direct measurement of pH in soil and soil slurries.

Glass Body

The glass of the HI-12922 is resistant to many harsh chemicals and is easily cleaned. The glass body also allows for a fast transfer of heat to the internal reference electrolyte. The mV response generated by the reference cell is temperature dependent. The faster equilibrium is reached, the steadier the reference potential.

Triple Ceramic Junction

The triple ceramic junction allows a higher flow rate of electrolyte from the reference cell into the measurement sample. The increased flow rate of 40 to 50 μL/hour provides greater continuity between the reference electrode and the indicating electrode.

Refillable

The HI-12922 features a refillable probe. A secondary reference chamber is filled with HI-7082 3.5M KCl. When using a refillable pH electrode the fill cap should be removed before calibration and measurement in order to create positive head pressure in the reference cell. This allows for a higher flow rate of electrolyte through the outer junction resulting in a faster and more stable reading.

Bluetooth® Connection – Wire free data transmission using Bluetooth 4 low power technology.

Compatible with the HANNA Edge Blu® meter, and also allows transmission of pH and temperature data to your mobile phone or tablet in conjunction with the free HANNA Lab App.
