Hanna Checkers are a highly accurate alternative to test strips and chemical test kits, providing clear digital results when testing key aquarium parameters. The majority of our electronic Checkers require only four steps for testing, with a 10 ml sample of water from your aquarium, your Checker and the reagents that come packaged with your starter kit required for testing.

TIP: The code to order additional reagents typically includes your Checker product code and ‘-25’. For example, the code to order HI-715 Medium Range Ammonia Checker reagents is HI-715-25

Four steps for testing aquarium water with Hanna Checkers

Step 1

1. ‘Collect a 10 ml water sample from your aquarium using the vial found inside the Checker. Insert the filled vial into the Checker and ‘Zero’ it to begin the testing process.

Step 2

2. Remove your vial from the Checker, and introduce the reagent, ensuring the full amount from the sachet is deposited into your water sample to achieve a reaction.

Step 3

3. Check your vial for any smudges or fingerprints and clean with a lint-free cloth as required, then place the vial with reagent and your aquarium water sample into the Checker and close the lid tightly.

Step 4

4. Press the single button found on the front of the Checker and read the results on the clear, digital LCD screen.

Please note that certain Checkers, such as the HI-783 Marine Magnesium Checker, require a more in-depth process for measuring parameters. You can find the full details of testing with the manual you receive with your Checker on purchase. Alternatively, product manuals are available online on each Checker product page for easy access.
