Halo2 features
Built for beer
This version of the Halo2 pH tester is designed for use with liquids and semi-solids, making it an ideal solution for the measurement of wort and beer with a waterproof casing. The titanium body protects the electrode and prevents electrical noise and humidity, while the flat glass tip allows for direct measurement on cooled samples, preventing clogging. The beer Halo2 pH tester also features an extractable cloth junction, further clearing clogging and ensuring fast response time and stability.
ATC included
The Halo2 beer pH tester has automatic temperature compensation built-in as standard with a range from 0.0 to 80.0°C. While it is important to take room temperature readings of wort for accuracy in pH, this compensation ensures results are consistent at every stage in the brewing process.
Easy to use and simple to clean
Many Halo2 testers are designed for use in the food industry, ensuring that no contamination occurs when measuring different foods and beverages including beer. For home brewers and DIY brewing, Halo2 is easy to use and practical to clean for day-to-day measurement. HI-700682P cleaning solution sachets for beer and wort are available to ensure the Halo2 tester is clean of any left-over materials for continued accurate pH monitoring.
Consistently accurate
The HI-9810312 Halo2 beer tester’s extractable cloth junction provides ongoing accuracy at every stage in the brewing process. Simply pull 3mm to expose a fresh new junction surface, helping you to achieve stability in pH readings with a faster response time. Unlike pH test strips, the Halo2 can be used over and over again to take accurate and stable readings of pH in the mash, wort and final beer product. Calibration sachets are readily available to further improve accuracy over time.
Hanna Lab connectivity
Connect the Halo2 beer tester directly to the Hanna Lab app with Bluetooth Smart Technology. Every measurement is easily accessible through the application, making it easy to compare the results of testing throughout the brewing process. Hanna Lab is available for both iOS and Android smartphone and tablet devices.
Long battery life
Halo2 testers are powered via a CR2032 lithium-ion coin-style battery. This battery provides up to 1,000 hours of use before it needs replacement. The battery is easily accessible for removal and replacement for continued, seamless operation.

FAQs
What stages of brewing can the Halo2 beer tester be used for?
Hanna’s Halo2 tester for beer is functional for all stages in the mashing, fermentation and beermaking process. At stages where the temperature of the wort is high, it is recommended to remove and cool a small sample for accurate pH testing. Learn more about how to use Halo2 for brewing here.
Why should I measure the pH of beer?
The pH of beer throughout the brewing process is a vital parameter to measure. pH outside of specific ranges, particularly in the mashing and fermentation stage, can result in a beer that has differences in taste, texture, colour and stability. Monitoring pH carefully to ensure it is in the correct range helps to achieve the same result every time from brewing. Learn more about why the pH of beer is important here.
How do you use Halo2 testers?
Halo2 testers feature a single button for all operations, making this beer tester fast and easy to use. Connect the Halo2 to your tablet or smartphone via the Hanna Lab app to store data and easily access previous measurements. Halo2 meters are functional without Bluetooth, displaying results on the clean LCD screen in addition to logging information in Hanna’s app when connected to a device.
How do you clean Halo2 testers?
A specific cleaning solution sachet for your application is the ideal way to clean Halo2 testers. Ensure all debris is removed before measurement to achieve accurate and reliable results. The HI-9810312 Halo2 beer tester is compatible with the Hanna HI-700682P electrode cleaning solution for beer and wort, available to buy from our website.
