Iris Spectrophotometer Features
Automatic vial recognition with barcode reader
The HI-802 Iris features automatic recognition of compatible Hanna vial reagents, using a barcode reader to immediately set up and test. This system reduces time in testing, with no need to navigate menus. Simply insert the vial into the spectrophotometer to begin the testing process, reducing errors and ensuring the correct method is used every time.
Electronic Zero functionality
Electronic zero functionality saves time and effort when testing. Store the Zero a single time for measurement with DI water blank correction, ensuring stable readings. Using this option allows you to bypass the interface, for fast, convenient and accurate testing with a shared single-zero that delivers fast results.
Exceptional accuracy with the Average Function
Achieve exceptional accuracy in measurement with the Average Function, with compatible 13 mm vials completing a rotation with 256 readings for high precision in testing. The averaging option is available for both pre-programmed and custom methods, providing complete flexibility while ensuring accurate results from measurements.
Over 100 pre-programmed methods
The HI-802 Iris is pre-programmed with 90 commonly-used methods, with over 100 factory methods available to further improve the versatility of this spectrophotometer. Add methods directly to the favourites menu for easy access, or utilise the barcode system with compatible Hanna cuvette reagents to automatically detect methods directly.
Customise the Iris with up to 100 custom methods
In addition to the existing methods, the Iris can be fully customised with your own methods to suit niche or less common requirements. Our expert team at Hanna can support you in programming curves for specific purposes, making the Iris an ideal solution for a wide range of industries and specialist applications.
Coverage for all visible wavelengths
The Iris Spectrophotometer from Hanna is capable of testing across the entire spectral range of visible light from 340 nm to 900 nm. This offers comprehensive coverage for common analytical methods, with excellent flexibility to adapt Iris methods to specific regulatory or industry requirements.
Comprehensive vial compatibility
Hanna’s portable spectrophotometer includes a cuvette holder and multiple adaptors to expand the range of cuvettes that can be measured with the Iris. These include 22 mm round and 5 cm path length rectangular vials as standard, with included adapters for 13 mm, 16 mm, and 10 mm cuvettes. The 13 mm adaptor includes a barcode reader and allows for the use of the Iris average function.
Capacitive touchpad for use even with gloves
A capacitive touchpad with optional audio feedback ensures the Iris is suited to many environments, from laboratories with strict sterility requirements to use in the field. This spectrophotometer features a simple LCD display with button navigation, allowing you to change settings, switch methods and access favourites with ease even with gloves on.
Suitable for the lab or the field
Whether you are working from a laboratory benchtop or out in the field, the HI-802 Iris is an ideal solution. This versatile spectrophotometer includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides charge for approximately 3,000 measurements before recharging is required, with a size and weight that makes portability easy.
Practical part replacement
The HI-802 Spectrophotometer is designed with a tungsten-halogen light for greater energy efficiency, longer service life and improved light quality across our wide wavelength range. Replacement lamps are shipped directly to you, pre-aligned and ready to be installed, with no need to send your whole spectrophotometer to use for replacement.
Easy, universal data transfer
The Hanna Iris has the capacity for up to 9,999 data points, allowing a large amount of measurements to be stored within the spectrophotometer before transfer is required. Directly connect to a Mac or PC or transfer data with a USB drive. All data is available in universal PDF and CSV file formats, with no requirement for specialist software.
