The HI-96749 meter measures the hexavalent chromium (Cr VI) content in water and waste waters samples. Supplied with 2 cuvettes and caps.

Water Resistant – Can withstand temporary exposure to water, but should not be submerged or washed under running water.
Battery powered – Allows use away from a power source. Batteries are included with all battery operated products.

Chromium VI, Low Range Portable Photometer

The meter uses an exclusive positive-locking system to ensure that the cuvette is in the same position every time it is placed into the measurement cell.

At normal temperatures chromium is corrosion-resistant. For this reason, it plays an important role in the plating industry as well as cooling towers. In addition, it has certain qualities that make it useful in the production processes of the textile industry.

Designed for precision

With the Hanna calibration check validation function, users can verify the performance of the meter quickly and easily at any time. Using Hanna NIST traceable standards, it takes just a few moments to check the accuracy of the instrument and to recalibrate as and when necessary.

All new instruments are factory calibrated at source and the electronic and optical design of the Hanna photometers minimises the need for frequent calibration. The Hanna calibration check further minimises the frequency with which instruments need to be returned to the calibration laboratory for full servicing.

PLEASE NOTE: In some cases, samples may contain other parameters which may interfere with results
Interference may be caused by: Vanadium above 1 mg/L, however, 10 seconds after the reaction the interference is removed. Iron above 1 mg/L. Mercurous and mercuric ions, slight inhibition of the reaction.
