Hanna's extended description

Photometer for Calcium and Magnesium

The HI-96752 measures two important parameters in agricultural and hydroponic applications. It measures calcium concentrations from 0 to 400 mg/L and magnesium from 0 to 150 mg/L and the values are displayed directly on the large LCD to eliminate the need for conversion tables.

This handy and portable meter with a low cost-per-test is an ideal hi-tech alternative to chemical test kits.

Accurate and cost-saving, this two in one portable photometer is factory calibrated to measure only calcium and magnesium, to provide an instrument that is easy to use in the lab or on the field.

Ideal for

  • Agricultural and hydroponic applications

Key features

  • Clear display messages make the instrument quick and easy to operate.
  • The powerful Cal Check calibration function means that there is no need to return the instrument to the laboratory to check its efficiency. Samples can be checked and validation confirmed at the press of a button.
  • Positive locking system ensures the cuvette is located in the same position each and every time is it placed in the measurement cell.
  • Auto shut off feature turns meter off after 10 minutes of non-use to save battery life.
  • Fully water resistant
  • Clear easy to use function buttons
  • Direct readout of parameter measured
  • Calibration check solution available - HI 96752-11

Designed for precision

With the Hanna calibration check validation function, users can verify the performance of the meter quickly and easily at any time. Using Hanna NIST traceable standards, it takes just a few moments to check the accuracy of the instrument and to recalibrate as and when necessary.

All new instruments are factory calibrated at source and the electronic and optical design of the Hanna photometers minimises the need for frequent calibration. The Hanna calibration check further minimises the frequency with which instruments need to be returned to the calibration laboratory for full servicing.

Order information

  • Meter only (HI -96752): 2 glass cuvettes, 9V battery

NB: reagents ordered separately.

Significance of Use

Calcium and Magnesium both play important roles in the growth of plants. Calcium helps plant roots develop and increases the resistance and strength of plant tissues and stems. Magnesium is an indispensable mineral that helps in the production of chlorophyll, the light-absorbing green pigment that serves as an energy source for plants. It also increases vitamin concentrations and aids in uptake of phosphorus within the plant body.

Water Resistant – Can withstand temporary exposure to water, but should not be submerged or washed under running water.

Battery powered – Allows use away from a power source. Batteries are included with all battery operated products.
