Cyanuric acid is widely used in swimming pools and spas as a stabilizing reagent for chlorine. It helps to slow down the decomposition of hypochlorous acid, particularly in outside pool areas, where this process is accelerated by UV rays. Cyanuric acid is also used in chlorinated bleaches, selective herbicides and whitening agents.

Cyanuric acid concentration can be measured using photometry, and Hanna offer a wide range of portable and bench Photometers suitable for measuring cyanuric acid concentration in water samples.
