Cadmium is typically found in water sources as a result of industrial waste, particularly from the mining and manufacturing industries and also due to it sometimes being naturally present in ores. Cadmium is harmful to human health, so it is important to monitor cadmium levels in drinking water to minimise consumption of it.

Cadmium levels can be measured using an ion selective electrode (ISE) and Hanna offer a range of ISE instrumentation that is ideal for accurate determination of cadmium concentration.
